Web Hosting क्या है ?

Web hosting एक ऐसा place है, जहाँ लोग अपनी websites store करते हैं.

इसे आप एक घर की तरह भी देख सकते हैं जहाँ आप अपनी चीज़ें रखते हैं, लेकिन web hosting में आप अपने कपडे और furniture नहीं बल्कि computer files (HTML, documents, images, videos, etc) store करते हैं.

“web hosting” ऐसी companies होती हैं जो अपने computers/servers को websites store करने के लिए rent पे देती हैं, और internet connectivity देती है जिससे other computers आपकी website की files पे access कर सकें.

क्या Web Hosting और Data Center Same हैं ?

Normally जब हम web hosting की बात करते हैं तो “web hosting” का मतलब होता है ऐसी company जो की अपना server space आपको rent पे देती है.वहीं जब हम data center की बात करें तो ये एक ऐसी facility है जो servers को रखने के लिए use की जाती है.

एक data center एक room, एक घर, या एक बड़ी building भी हो सकती है, जहाँ पे data communication connection, environmental control ( air conditioner, fire suppression ) और security devices होते हैं.

Web Hosting के Types

Generally web hosting के four types होते हैं : Shared, Virtual Private Server (VPS), Dedicated, and Cloud Hosting.

ये सभी types के hosting servers आपको अपनी website का data store करने की facility देंगे, लेकिन इनमे storage capacity, control, technical knowledge requirements etc. का फर्क होता है. चलिए इनके बीच के differences को और अच्छे से जानते हैं.

1. Shared Hosting

Shared Hosting क्या है ?

Shared hosting में hundreds से ले कर thousands of websites को एक ही server पे रखा जाता है. ये सभी domains common resources use करते हैं जैसे की CPU, RAM etc.

इसका cost काफी कम होता है इस लिए ज्यादातर websites जिनका traffic ज्यादा नहीं होता वो इन्ही servers पे रखी जाती हैं. Shared hosting widely accepted है क्युकी इसमें ज्यादा technical knowledge की जरुरत भी नहीं है.

Disadvantages :

Shared Hosting में root access नहीं होती. यहाँ हम ज्यादा traffic level को control नहीं कर सकते, और इन servers में बहुत सी websites होने के कारण websites की performance पे भी फर्क पड़ता है.

Note : Root Access का मतलब होता है server पे पूरी तरह से control, जिससे की server की settings change की जा सकें

Virtual Private Server (VPS) Hosting

Virtual Private Server (VPS) Hosting क्या है ?

Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting एक ऐसा device है जिसमे एक server को बहुत सारे virtual servers में divide कर दिया जाता है, और इसमें हर एक website का अपना virtual server होता है, लेकिन actual में ये सभी virtual servers एक ही main server share करते हैं.इसमें users को अपने virtual space पे root access हो सकती है. ऐसी websites जिन्हे बहुत ज्यादा control करने की जरुरत होती है, but वे ज्यादा invest नहीं कर सकते, उनके लिए ये server hosting best है.

Disadvantages :

Virtual Private Server (VPS) Hosting में root access होती है but वो भी limited होती है. इन servers में भी बहुत सी websites होने के कारण websites की performance पे फर्क पड़ता है.

Dedicated Server Hosting

Dedicated Server Hosting क्या है ?

Dedicated Server Hosting में एक server में सिर्फ एक ही website होती है, यहाँ website पे पूरी तरह से control होता है. इस hosting में एक server rent पे लिया जाता है और उसमे सिर्फ एक ही website store की जाती है.

Disadvantages :

Dedicated Server Hosting के advantages तो हैं ही जैसे की website पे complete control, effective performance, but Dedicated Server Hosting का सिर्फ एक disadvantage है की ये बहुत ही ज्यादा expensive है. इसलिए ये hosting उन्ही websites के लिए better है जिन्हे full control चाहिए, और जो expensive server afford कर सकती हैं.

Cloud Hosting

Cloud Hosting Kya Hai ?

Cloud Hosting में websites को unlimited ability to control दिया जाता है. इसमें एक group of servers जिसे की Cloud कहा जाता है, website को host करता है. इससे एक ही website पे multiple computers से काम किया जाता है, जिससे की high traffic level control किया जाता है.

Disadvantages:

Cloud Hosting का disadvantage है की इसमें कुछ clouds website को root access नहीं देते, जिससे की server की settings change नहीं की जा सकती, और ये सबसे ज्यादा expensive hosting है.
